February 19, 1952 — March 3, 2022

Stephen V. McMahan, age 70, of Knoxville, passed away on March 3, 2022, courageously fighting cancer for 7 years. He was a building contractor & developer in Knoxville and surrounding areas. He loved to spend time in the woods hunting, working on the cattle farm, spending time with his grandchildren and loved to joke with everyone in his own mischievous and loving way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Evelyn Lambert McMahan. Steve leaves behind his wife, Beverly; children, Jason (Judy) McMahan, Erin (Jeff) Sohm, Leah (Bobby) Edmondson; sister, Sandy Schonhoff; grandchildren, Logan (Morgan) McMahan, Colton and Brett McMahan, Cody (James) Eggert, Kala and Leah Sohm, Luke and Jake Parris; great-grandson, Earl Eggert; brothers & sisters-in-law, George and Vicki VanDeGriff and Joel and Jeannie VanDeGriff; extended family, Brandon and Addy Edmondson, Brittany Whittaker, Jada Walton, Maggie Middleton, Tommy Hardin and Larry Kennedy. Special friends that Steve called family: Mike Overton, David Cantrell, Larry Woods, The Campbell Family, “Big Scott” (Kreis), Dwight “Dawg” Dykes, Chris Reagan. Thank you for being a friend! The family would like to thank Steve’s family, friends, and neighbors for their kindness and support. Steve requested there be no funeral services and that his remains to be spread on his farm at a later date.
