Stephen Lynn Clifton

July 25, 1954 — December 26, 2015

Stephen Lynn Clifton, 61, passed away after a lengthy illness on December 26. Steve was the son of Mary Bailey Clifton and John James Clifton both deceased. He grew up in Knoxville and attended Powell High School. Active in the Powell Jaycees in the 80’s, Steve dedicated his time, energies and talents to the betterment of his community. He was awarded the honor of Lifetime Membership in the Tennessee Jaycees in 1990. Steve is survived by his siblings Mike Clifton (Eileen), Vickie Clifton Basri (David), Judy McGinnis Henry (Patrick), Bill Clifton (Joyce) and Bob Clifton (Donna). Steve had great love for his nieces and nephews, Maggie Clifton Shaw, Jonathon Clifton, Benjamin Clifton, Teresa Janise Henry, Patrick Henry, Gwendolyn Henry Hughes, Brittany Basri Powell and Taylor Basri. He was very appreciative of his church family at Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the wonderful caring staff of Island Home Rehab and Nursing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be greatly appreciated to Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church Mission and Outreach Fund, or the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 on Saturday, January 2nd at Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 7225 Old Clinton Pike, Knoxville, TN 37921, with a memorial service to follow at 2pm. Reverend Fran Vickers and Rev. Patrick Wilkerson will be officiating.
