S.J. Hutchison passed away October 17, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. S.J. was born November 11, 1941, in Seoul, South Korea. She was a successful business woman, with various ventures throughout her life. At the time of her death, S.J. was a business affiliate with AAFES, in Seoul, South Korea. She enjoyed cooking Korean dishes for her family, both here and in Korea. She had an appreciation for Korean and American antiques. Her love for the mountains and flowers surrounding her homes in both South Korea and Knoxville, TN, was obvious to all that knew her. S.J. lived in Korea most of her life. After her marriage to Terry L. Hutchison, August 22, 1986, the couple lived in Dallas, Texas and Shaumburg, Il, finally settling in Knoxville, TN. S.J. and Terry, maintained residences in both Korea and Knoxville, splitting their time between the two, as she continued to run her businesses and Terry spent time caring for his elderly mother and their homes. Both loved traveling and exploring new paces, which was their plan for eventual retirement from her businesses.
S.J. is preceded in death by her father, An, Chin San and mother Pak, Can Ran, of Seoul, South Korea. Survivors include her husband, Retired Air Force Pilot Terry L. Hutchison, of Knoxville, TN. Her son, Dr. Yejin L. Hutchison of Seoul, South Korea. Katherine Juanita Hutchison her mother-in-law, one daughter, Lesli L. Hutchison, and one grand-daughter, Terran A. Duffield, all of Knoxville. Five sisters and their spouses, as well as one brother and his spouse, all of Seoul, South Korea, and host of nieces and nephews throughout South Korea.
A private service will be held for immediate family here, with a Korean ceremony held for her extensive family and life-long friends in Seoul, South Korea.
