Sidney “Pete” McGhee, age 76 of Dawsonville, Georgia formerly of Corryton passed away 8:20 pm Sunday, October 16, 2022, at his home. He retired from the City of Oak Ridge and had been a farrier for 45 years. Member of Corryton Church and the Jerry Jones Community Group. He was a United States Army veteran, avid bowler, hunter and fisherman. Member of the Gibbs Ruritan Club for many years and was an avid family man. Preceded in death by father, James Benton Mouser; mother, Imogene Groner Mouser; and brother, Tony McGhee. Survivors, wife of 53 years, Becky (Clapp) McGhee; daughters, Toni Rebecca McGhee and Sydnee Rachelle (Ernie) Wilson; grandchildren, Austin Stryker, Danielle Stryker, Sarah Beth Atkins, Emma Wilson, Eva Wilson and Jason McGhee; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue (McGhee) Chasteen; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, October 21, 2022, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service with Eulogist Jeanette Lowe and Jerry Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 pm Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Graveston Baptist Church Cemetery for a 1:00 pm graveside service with Dr. Rocky Ramsey officiating and full military honors to be conducted by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
