Shirley Marie Carter

Shirley Marie (Huskey) Carter, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2022. She was a member of Lonsdale Baptist Church, where she played the organ for 20 years. She was a former member and piano player at Black Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She loved animals, flowers, and her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; Henry C. and Hazel A. (Hatmaker) Huskey, husband; Marvin Elmer Carter Sr., and sisters; Barbara Catlett and Charlotte Cox. She is survived by her children; David (Delores) Carter, Teresa (Jess) Walker, and Marvin E. (Missy) Carter Jr., her grandchildren; Matt (Cindel) Carter, Ashley Carter, Melissa (Matt) Glass, and Clay Walker, her great-grandchildren; Briley and Drake Carter and Baby Girl Glass, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with a 7:00pm service to follow, officiated by Marvin E. Carter Jr. Friends and family will then meet at 10:45am on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Taylor Chapel Cemetery in Anderson County for an 11:00am graveside service.
