Shirley Lay

Shirley “Sherrie” Lay, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Parkwest Medical Center. Sherrie loved her family and everyone she came in contact with, and always had a smile on her face even when she didn’t feel the best. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking for her family and friends, camping, car shows, fishing, listening to Christian music. However, her pride and joy were her two grandsons. She is preceded in death by parents, Jimmy and Virginia Perritt; daughter, Jessica Jones; special aunt, Carolyn Smith. She is survived by her loving husband, Danny Lay; daughter, Jenna Buffalo (Chad); step-son, Todd Lay; son-in-law, Ray Jones; grandsons, Vince Jones and Elliott Buffalo; sisters, Vickie Burke (Ed), and twin sister, Terri Spurgeon; special friend, Vicki Bridges; and her beloved fur-baby and grand-dog, Bubbles; several other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Infusion Center at Tennessee Cancer Specialist, and nurse Kasey at Parkwest ICU. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Allen Massengill officiating.
