Shirley F. Smith

Shirley Faye Smith (Barr), age 75 of Knoxville passed away Saturday, November 12 at Physician's Regional Medical Center-Knoxville after a several years’ battle with dementia and Alzheimer's. She was born March 7, 1941 to Robert and Minnie Barr in the community of Lonsdale. She was a member of Oakwood United Methodist and a former member of Lonsdale United Methodist and retired from the Knox Co. School system at Halls Elementary. She also worked at Adrian Burnett, Brownlow, Brickey, Christenberry, and Inskip Schools. She was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Minnie Barr. Survivors include husband of 56 years, Paul Smith; children, Gary Smith and Scotty Smith; grandchildren, Amanda Smith Adams (Nikki), Cameron Smith, and Corey Smith; Sheri Smith and several close friends. Family and friends will meet at Bookwalter Cemetery at 10:45am Wednesday for an 11 o’clock AM graveside service. The family will receive friends Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel from 5pm to 7pm. Arrangements are in the care of Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
