Shirley Ann Chappell

Shirley Ann Chappell, age 74 of Knoxville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. 

Shirley was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother neighbor and friend. She never met a stranger, and often showered everyone she knew with love and kindness. She was an amazing lady and will be greatly missed. 

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Raby and Flora Elliott, and by her brother, Carl Elliott. She is survived by her children, Michelle Jackson (David), John “Greg” Chappell, James Chappell, Jr. (Kim); grandchildren, Hannah, James Lee, Jennifer, and Michael; sisters Margaret Edington (James), Dorothy Frankenberg (John); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a funeral service to follow and Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Relatives and friends will meet on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at New Gray Cemetery for a 2:00 P.M. graveside service, Reverend Carl Elliott, Jr. officiating.
