Shirley Ann Bloomer, age 78, of Knoxville passed away on January 29, 2021. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Glenn Bloomer; Parents, Robert and Pauline McGhee; Sister, Wilma McGhee; Brother, Robert McGhee Jr.; father and mother-in-law Mack and Ida Bloomer, and nephew Kevin McGhee. She is survived by her sons, Eddie and Wife Melanie Bloomer, Greg and Wife Joyce Bloomer; Grandchildren, Kayla Bloomer, Austin Bloomer, Gregory Bloomer, Elizabeth Evans, and Mason Evans; Great-Grandson, Reed Crowder; Sister-in-law, Linda McGhee and husband Stan Cannon; Niece, Karla and husband James Owens; Great Nephew, Trey Owens; Great Nieces, Vanessa Owens and Haley McGhee; Great Grandniece, Valley Owens, and Great-Grandnephew Daxton Conner. Shirley and her late Husband Glenn are well known in the Coral Springs FL and Knox-Area Bowling Communities. From 1967 until retirement in 2004, they managed Fountain Lanes in Knoxville, Holiday Springs Lanes in Margate, FL, and finally Starlite Lanes in Knoxville where they were also part owners. A 1998 newspaper article actually referred to the Bloomers as “Knoxville’s #1 Bowling Family.” Shirley was also involved in the community of Halls where she was voted Woman of the Year in 1978 by the Halls Community Club. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 12:45PM at Byrd’s Chapel Cemetery, 11270 Yarnell Road, Knoxville Tn 37932 for a 1:00Pm Graveside Service.
