Sherril Franklin Coker

Coker, Sherril Franklin – at age 81, Sherril went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Sherril was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Rhom and Haas, and proudly served as a Chaplain for the Knoxville Police Department. Most importantly, he was a dedicated husband and father.

Preceded in death by his wife, Sharron McPhetridge Coker; son Mark Sherril Coker; parents, James and Phyllis Coker. Survived by sons, Greg (Susan) Coker and Spencer (Jessenia) Coker; grandchildren, Jessica, Andrea, Aaron, Brianna, Olivia, Derek, Landon, McKenzie, and Lexi; great grandchildren, Emery, Knox, Maddox, Brinley, Delilah, Evan, Emma, Brooklyn, and Emily.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 4328 E. Emory Rd., Knoxville, TN 37938, with service to follow. Dr. Alan Price officiating. Friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 4340 Sutherland Ave., for interment service at 11:00 a.m. Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel in charge of arrangements.
