Sherman “Bob” Holbert, age 85, passed away on March 14, 2018. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a veteran of The United States Army. He was retired from the City of Knoxville Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, whistling and listening to music. He is preceded in death by parents, Sherman and Anna Holbert and brother, Richard Holbert. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Curington Holbert; son, Glenn Holbert (fiancé Sara Bernard); daughters, Gloria “Penny” Holbert Eckhart (Dave), Peggy Burgin, Pamela McGill (John); grandchildren, Treva Beeler, Aaron Beeler (Jessica), Jeremy Beeler (fiancé Danielle Peters), Rachel McGill, Shelly McGill, Megan McGill, Amy Dew; sisters, Pauline Miller, Jessie Melton, Shirley King (Don), Troy Jackson (Glenn); brother, Coy Holbert (Karen); sisters-in-law, Jewel Holbert, Blanche Webb (Dennis), Joyce Curington; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel on Sunday, March 18th from 2-4pm with a service to follow with Rev. John Holland and Rev. Allen James officiating. Family and Friends will gather on Monday, March 19th at 1:45pm for Interment at Roseberry Baptist Church Cemetery.
