Shannon Lee Smith Mathewson

Our Angel, Shannon Lee Smith Mathewson, 52, of Powell, Tennessee, mother of Logan Mathewson, daughter of James and Barbara Smith, has flown for her Heavenly wings. Shannon’s lifetime was spent in the Powell community, graduating from Powell High School in 1989, attending Pellissippi State Community College, and pursuing a career in business administration. She enjoyed beach vacations, pocketbook shopping, and get-togethers with close friends, but she was happiest supporting and attending Logan’s activities, especially his baseball games. Shannon had a strong belief in God’s word. She wanted to send her special thanks and appreciation for the love and prayers from her Ya Ya sisters, cancer support group, close friends Lori, Kristie, Sarah, Denise, Jennifer, Mitzey, Kim, and Patti, caring boss Wesley and co-workers. Shannon will be greatly missed and remain close to our hearts. Shannon is predeceased by her beloved father, James Smith. She is survived by loving son, Logan Mathewson; mother, Barbara Smith; uncle, Kim Smith (Ella); and numerous cousins. Family and friends will meet 11:45am, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Woodhaven Cemetery for a 12:00 noon graveside service, officiated by Pastor Chad Ricker.
