Shannon Amick Hancock

Shannon Amick Hancock passed away on July 14, 2015. She was 44 years old. Born to the late Randy and Susan Amick, Shannon grew up in Lexington, SC. After graduating from Lexington High School, she received degrees from Clemson University and University of Tennessee. Shannon taught at Halls Elementary School and River’s Edge Christian Academy. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Knoxville. Shannon is survived by her husband of 23 years, Sam, and children, Morgan and Lily, of Knoxville; brother, Dean Amick; uncle Larry (Betsy) Hutton; aunt Caroline Raszewski all of Columbia, SC; in-laws Frank and Mary Alice Hancock of Check, VA; and cousins. Shannon stayed in close contact with a vast number of friends from childhood, high school, Clemson Tiger Band, CISV, the Halls community, etc. With everyone, she shared her love of God, family, books, Disney, Charleston, SC beaches – and them! Visitation will be on Saturday, August 1st from 6 -8 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 2nd at 5pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
