Sarah Naomi Adams Kirby, age 93, passed away January 9, 2016. The focus of her life was her family and friends. She loved to paint and travel. She graduate from Knoxville Highschool, and attended Bethel College. After many years of government service, she retired as a VA Pharmacy Tech. She was a 40 years member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and also attended Faith United Methodist Church. She is survived by loving husband, with whom she celebrated her 74th wedding anniversary on New Year’s Eve, Arthur Wayne Kirby. Also survived by daughter, Carolyn Kirby and her son, Travis Kirby; sons Charles Kirby and wife Carolyn (Guana Cay, Bahamas) and Martin Kirby and wife Hazel (Dalton, GA); 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Alma Haymes (Dalton, GA); and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Charles and Lucy Adams; sisters Marion Adams and Christine Schipper; brothers, Howard, Joseph, and Monroe Adams; granddaughter Taylor Kirby. Service will be held 12pm Friday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Rev. Barbara Clark officiating. Family and friends will then proceed to East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for 1:30pm interment. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
