Sandra Lynn (Cathey) Dickens, age 69, of Knoxville, went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 29, 2021, peacefully with her beloved family by her side. She was born April 9, 1952 to her parents, Earline Messick and James Lynn Cathey. She was a born-again believer in Christ and enjoyed spreading the word of the Lord. She especially enjoyed spending precious time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by stepfather, Audie Tucker; momma, Mrs. Flora Lewis; son, Michael Dickens; companion for life, Carolyn Shoffner; sister, Arlene Birnbaum; brothers, Dennis Tucker and Clayton Lewis; sisters-in-law, Barbara Lewis and Harriet Lewis.
She is survived by her son, Jeffery Taylor; daughter-in-law, Maggie Bailey; grandson, Brandon Taylor; granddaughters, Emma Bailey and Brianna Henegar; grandson, Adam Waring; many great grandchildren, Liam, Remi and Kira Henegar, Alex and Mia Waring; sisters, Sharon Purnell, Pam Norton and Paula Russell; brothers, Ronnie Tucker, Joe Lewis, Larry Lewis and Jerry Lewis; she was blessed with an extended family, Chris and Claudette Shoffner (whom she loved as her son and daughter-in-law), their family, Daniel Dilbeck and Skylar Dilbeck (whom she loved as her grandson and great granddaughter), Rosie Needham and family, Bridgette and David Cate (lifelong friends).

Family and friends may call at their convenience on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 9:00am until 5:00pm. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:45am for a 12:00pm graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandra’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
