Long, Sandra (Sandy) Wilkerson Newberry, age 79 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 7, 2021, after an extended illness. Bill Long, her husband of 45 years, was by her side as he continued his loving care for her. Sandy was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. After graduating from Fulton High School, Sandy completed training in cosmetology in 1960. Throughout her life, she served many in her long career as a hairdresser. Through her work and dedication to her clients, Sandy helped others realize both their inner and outer beauty. She is preceded in death by her mother Marion Wilkerson McPeake, step-father Fred Wylie McPeake, father Clarence Lee (C.L.) Wilkerson, and son Chad Everette Newberry. In addition to her loving husband Bill, Sandy is survived by grandchildren Lynsie Norman, Kneely Newberry, and Chad E Newberry II, bothers-in-law Lawrence Long (Birdie) and Tony Long, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Family and Friends can call at their convenience from 10:00AM-5:00PM on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City in the parlors. Family and friends will meet at 12:45pm at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Thursday March 11, 2021 for a 1:00PM Graveside Service Officiated by Rev. Mike Seigers.
