Sandi "Mime" Jane Fortner

Sandi “Mime” (pronounced 'meem') Jane Fortner of Knoxville, age 65, went home to be with the Lord July 6, 2017. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and mimer (grandmother). A graduate of Knoxville Business College and Bryan College summa cum laude, Sandi adored spending time with her family and was delighted to give back to the community. She is preceded in death by parents Rev. Albert and Betty Walters; brother, Vaughn Walters. Survived by beloved husband Steve Fortner, son Nicholas “Nick” Fortner (Kerri Keaton) , daughter Meghan Fortner, grandchildren Jackson Fortner and Ella Keaton, sister Suzi Allison (Larry), last surviving uncle Tony Buhl, several nieces and nephews, and many other cherished family members and loved ones. Service will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, July 10th at Calvary Baptist Church, 3200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN, Rev. Dr. Dan Riley officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am, Tuesday, July 11th at Greenwood Cemetery for interment at 11:00am. Family will receive friends Monday, July 10th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association in Sandi's name.
