Samuel Mcpherson Jelf

Sam Jelf, age 74, son of the late Rev. William and Katherine Jelf, was born in Madisonville, TN and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Sam attended Hiwassee College and served in the USAF in Germany and England. Sam and his wife, Sandra Braden Jelf, were married 52 wonderful years and are proud parents of Gregory (Joanna) and Tonya and three grandchildren, Sophia, Ian, and Joanna. He is also survived by Bill Jelf, Trudy Jelf, Oleva Braden, Mike Braden, Johnny Braden, and Barbara (Steve) Chandler and several nieces and nephews. Sam’s vocation was banking. He was a selfless man who loved helping people. His philosophy was to never hold a grudge and his goal was to spend as much time as possible with his grandchildren and on the golf course. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm.
