Sam Cook, age 90 of Knoxville, passed away December 23, 2020. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Sam was born in Elkmont, TN in what is now the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, laughing, and telling stories. Sam made many dear friends throughout his life and never stopped making new ones. He was a happy and joyful person, who deeply appreciated the value of the people around him, and would gladly help anyone in need. Preceded in death by parents D.C. and Pearl Cook and sister Mary Grace Pate. Survived by wife of 68 years Emily Cook, daughter Denae Cook Ebuna (John), grandsons Evan and Conor Ebuna, special nephew Kenneth Pate (Judy), special niece Anne Wimberly, and many dear friends.
