Sally R. Walton

On Thursday, August 18th, 2022, Sally Walton went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 79. Sally was born on June 25, 1943 in TN to Homer Zerk Ford and Anna Ruth Baker. On December 27th, 1958, Sally married Bruce Walton. They were blessed with 5 daughters; Rodna Hemphill, Vivian Asbury, Evanna Gresham, and Melissa Long. Sally was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, and had a calling to serve all people. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that brought the entire family together. Her love for people was evident through her various ministries such as feeding and caring for the homeless and children as well as witnessing to and sharing the gospel with everyone she met through scripture and song. Sally is preceded in death by her father Homer Ford , mother Anna Ruth Baker, husband Bruce Walton, sisters Arvella Rice, Betty Jo Pique, Barbara June Jenkins, and Catherine Webb. Brothers Ronald “Speedy” Ford and Homer “Cracker” Ford, and her daughter Rodna Hemphill. She is survived by her sister Peggy Hunley, daughters Vivian Asbury, Evanna Gresham, and Melissa Long, as well as 13 grand children,20 great children, 1 great great grand child, several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends between the hours of 4-6 pm with a service starting at 6pm Sunday, August 21st at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City at 2829 Rennoc Rd Knoxville, TN 37918. Immediately following the service we will be dining at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church to continue celebrating the life of our beloved mother.
