Ruth Lynn Rogers

Ruth Lynn Miller Rogers, age 94, passed away at Blount Memorial Hospital on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11:30 AM. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 19, 1927. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to everyone she met. She was saved at an early age. Then after her marriage to Jesse in 1945, she attended North Glenwood Baptist Church. After the children were grown and she and Jesse had retired, they moved to the family farm in Tazewell, where she attended Springdale Baptist Church. When her husband passed away, she moved to be near some of the children and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Powell. She loved to play Bingo and enjoyed the company of everyone at the Halls Senior Center. When she was unable to live alone, she moved to Maryville to live with her daughter, Linda. When she needed more specialized care she became a longterm resident at Ft. Hills Transitional in Maryville. Preceded in death by: husband of 56 years, Jesse L Rogers, Sr.; daughter, Mary Coffey Hankins; mother, Barbara Redden Miller; father, Robert Daniel Miller; sisters, Ruby Patrick and Dorothy Headrick; brothers, Edward and Carl Miller; brothers-in-law, H. B. Patrick, Lonzo Allison and Charles Headrick; son-in-law, Jesse Coffey, Sr.; and grandson, Jesse Coffey, Jr., daughter-in-law, Dottie Rogers; son-in-law, Marshall Hankins, granddaughters, Wendy Fitzgibbon and Marsha Hankins Thompson. Survived by sons: Jesse Jr. (Connie), Don (Carolyn), and Steve; daughters: Linda (Albert Bailey, Jr.), Ginger (Jeffrey Miller, Sr.); several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; sister Opal Allison; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at East TN Veteran's Cemetery Lyons View Pike for a 1:00 graveside service, officiated by Chris Brown.
