Russell Summers Jr. of Maryville passed away on January 6, 2021 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Maryville and a graduate of Fulton High School. He was a United States Army Veteran. Russell retired as a service tech from Sears. Russell loved to restore antique cars; was a member of a tractor club; enjoyed racing stock cars at local racetracks; enjoyed flying airplanes, camping and riding motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his parents D.R. and Bertha Summers; brother Tommy Summers and father-in-law LeRoy Burgin. Survivors include his loving wife Pam Summers; mother-in-law Barbara Burgin; sisters-in-laws Kay (James) Swanson and Beverly, along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thanks to Russell’s Care staff: Linda Hamner, Becky Bullard, Butch and Kay Thacker and Thomas and Agnesia Clanton. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 3–5pm in the chapel of Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. A Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 pm with minister Chris Edmonds, officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 pm on Monday, January 11, 2021 in the mausoleum chapel at Sherwood Memory Gardens on Alcoa Highway for a 1 o’clock committal service.
