Russell Preston White

Russell Preston White, age 87, of Powell, died September 30, 2016 at Tennova Residential Hospice. He was born February 26, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio. Russ attended both the University of Kentucky and the University of Tennessee. He retired from Rohn & Haas after 35 years in 1992. Russ was preceded in death by his parents, William Preston White and Janet White; son-in-law, Christopher Baker; daughter-in-law, Trish Holst; and step-daughter, Shannon Wolfe. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Margaret White; sister, Eleanor Troutman, San Antonio, TX; daughters, Amy Baker and Holly White, of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie Craze (Tim), Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Bill White (Jan Lester), Knoxville; stepson and daughter-in-law Steve Wolfe (Rosemary), Marietta, GA; stepson and daughter-in-law Hugh Wolfe (Carol), Knoxville: and step-daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Brinson (Bill), Knoxville. Survived by grandchildren, Dan Baker, Megan White, Drew White, Melissa Wolfe, Joshua Wolfe, Tyler Wolfe, Nick Wolfe, Merry Davis, Alex Brinson, Jordan Brinson and several great grandchildren. Emory Rd., Powell, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Pat Ramsden, Pastor Richard Nicely, and Tennova Hospice Chaplain Phillip Groos officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for 11:00 a.m. interment.
