RT Rogers- age 79, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord after a long and courageous battle with COPD. RT was a man of strong faith and wisdom, a devoted husband, father and papaw, and a treasure to all who loved him. Born June 22, 1935, RT served in the US Army and retired from Morristown Utility Systems. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and attended Brickyard Road Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bessie Tindell Rogers; brother Eugene; and sister Evelyn. He is survived by his wife Eva Brantley Rogers; son Kevin and wife Paige; daughter Pam Sawyer and husband Dale; children by marriage Wayne Keck, Lisa and David Young and Keith and Suzanna Wyrick; grandchildren Jordan, Brittany and Bailey Sawyer, Alex Rogers, Casey and Davin Hatfield; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter by marriage; many nieces and nephews; brothers Kyle, Asie and Dennis Rogers. Many thanks to sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Berney Long, the staff of Tennova Hospice and Dr. Nick Thornton and staff. Funeral Service will be held 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with Rev. Tony White officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 AM, Friday, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment at 10:00 AM. Pallbearers: Dale and Jordan Sawyer, Alex Rogers, David Young, Lester Sellers and Berney Long. Honorary Pallbearers: Ethan Young, Rick Wyrick and Mark Wyrick. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
