Roy Lynn Bates

Roy Lynn Bates, age 81, of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, October 24th, 2017. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by parents Archie W and Edna Pace Bates and wife Janie Marie Bates. He is survived by his daughter Kandy Lynn (Steve) Little; sons Scottie Alan (Melanie) Bates and Roy Lynn Bates Jr.; brother Ray Glen (Lorene) Bates; grandchildren Kevin Raymer, Alan Bates Noah Bates, and Jarrick Little; and several great-grandchildren. The family will have call at convenience from 9a.m.-6p.m. with the family gathering from 5p.m.-6p.m. Thursday, October 26th at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 27th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. central time at Bates Cemetery, Centerville, TN with Rev. Bill McDonald officiating.
