Rose Ellen Varner

Rose Ellen Haworth Varner, age 81, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. She was born in Fountain City on November 14, 1941. Rose was baptized at an early age and a member of First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1959. Rose married Jerry Varner in April of 1963, and had three sons, Ray (Tracy), Rick and Ron. Anybody that knew Rose knew how supportive, protecting, and generous, not only to her friends but especially her family. She was a selfless and unselfish lady. Preceded in death by parents, Marshall and Mary Haworth; husband, Jerry; brothers, David and John Haworth. Survived by sons, Ray (Tracey), Rick and Ron; sister, Mary Margaret Simpson; grandchildren who she loved dearly, Lindsey (Shane), Alesha (Dylan), Will and Baylor; great grandchildren, Branson and Brylee Cox; nieces and nephews, Dan, Travis, Cayla, Chris, Lori, Kelly and David. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:45am at Varner Family Cemetery for an 12:00pm graveside service with Rev. Mike Samples officiating.
