Roscoe Glenn Thompson, born January 19, 1926, of Corryton, passed away May 9, 2014, age 88. He was a member of Clapps Chapel United Methodist Church and of the Goldwing Road Rider’s Assoc., Chapter T. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy and retired from Robertshaw. Preceded in death by son, Dennis Glenn Thompson; mother, Rosa Thompson Lewis; father, James T. Thompson; brothers, Charlie Thompson, Bedford Thompson, Govan Thompson, and John Thompson; sisters, Velma Mayes, Anna Lee Barber, Mattie Simmons, Shirley Shumate; and twin sister, Rosa Fair Thompson. Survived by loving wife, Martha Daniel Thompson; daughters, Linda Gray, Alice (Richard) Grady; grandchildren, Wendy (Kevin) Crawford, Jennifer Tidwell, Mindy (Chris) Luttrell, Stephanie (Tony) Hurst; and 7 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clapps Chapel UMC Building Fund. Funeral service 7PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Serving as pallbearers, Tony Hurst, Daniel Tidwell, Jeff Tidwell, Chris Luttrell, Kevin Crawford, Larry Wayne Daniel. Honorary pallbearers, Stanley Daniel, Donald Hickman, Hubbell Qualls, Euel Chauvin, Bud Fritts, Jimmy Thompson, Eddie Hall and Chapter T members. Family and friends will gather 10:15AM Tuesday and proceed to Clapps Chapel United Methodist Church for 11AM interment service. Family will receive friends 5-7PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
