Ronnie Gordon Ayers

October 30, 1945 — April 25, 2016

Ronnie Gordon Ayers was born October 30th, 1945 in Oak Ridge, TN. He was a United States Army Veteran and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict, in which he received both the Silver Star and the Purple Heart for his valor. Ronnie was a self-employed building contractor, a rugged outdoorsman, an avid fisherman, gardener, golfer, and possessed a special gift for training horses. He went to be with our Lord on April 25th, 2016. Preceded in death by his father, James Boyd Ayers. He is survived by daughter, Lindsey Ayers Chapman, and husband Dereck; grandchildren, Kylie and Luke Chapman; mother, Hazel Ayers; siblings, James Ayers, and wife Laura, Norma Buhl, Rebecca Justice and husband Chris; nieces and nephews, Anthony Buhl, and girlfriend Caroline Haynes, Joshua Justice, Scarlett and Jackson Ayers; Special Friends: Laura Bailey, Gary Brewton, Vicky Jones, and numerous extended family and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 29th, 2016 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 pm, with Reverend Dr. Jan Wade officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:15 am on Monday May 2nd, 2016 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Gov. John Sevier Highway for an 11:30 am committal service, where he will receive military honors. A fellowship reception will immediately follow at The Bailey Barn, 2700 West Emory Rd. Powell, TN 37849.
