Ronald Thomas Cook I

Ronald Thomas Cook I, age 83 of Straw Plains, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at Ft. Sander's Regional Medical Center. Ron was born September 5, 1941 in Strawberry Plains, TN. He was retired from the U.S Air Force after 20 years of service. Ron was a student of life, he loved learning, reading, caring for stray animals, archaeological studies, etc.  Ron is preceded in death by wife of 60 years, Hedy Mae Cook; son Ronald Thomas Cook II; parents, Dovie and Andrew Cook; brothers, Jack and Bobby Lynn Cook. Ron is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roy Cook and Luz Gongora; grandson, Andrew Livingston Cook and granddaughter, Stacy Lyn Cook; sister, Gracie Buchanan; sister-in-law, Judy Nichols and several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 at Piney Grove aka Pleasant Piney Church Cemetery 2660 Piney Road New Market, TN 37820 for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service, eulogist Roy Cook officiating with full military honors by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.  Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
