Roger Michael Ellison

Roger Michael Ellison, 71, of Powell, TN passed away on May 15, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Mike, as he was known, was born on March 7, 1951, in Chattanooga, TN, the son of James Edward and Mary Mildred (Merriman) Ellison. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1968. Gone before in death are Mike's parents, brother James Frances Ellison, and niece Laurie (Heaton) Stubbs. Mike married Barbara (Henry) Ellison in 1973 and they were married 29 years. Remaining to cherish his memory are his son James (Casey) Ellison and daughter Sarah (Josh) Darling; grandchildren Taylor, Noah, Elijah, Cayla, and Whitney; sister Charlotte, nephews; Billy, Guy, and James Heaton. Mike was loved and adored by his children and grandchildren, and he was an amazingly loving and devoted husband, father, uncle and grandfather. He was an accomplished musician and loved playing the guitar. He had a passion for photographing nature and was an expert gunsmith. Mike was a proud Vietnam Veteran, and throughout his lifetime he worked diligently in seeking to return soldiers lost in the Vietnam War.
