Roger Leo Stout, age 82 of Knoxville passed away on August 20, 2012 at Tennova Hospice. He was born on December 2, 1929. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a faithful member, deacon and usher of Beaver Dam Baptist Church for over 60 years, who loved the Lord and fellow Christians. He served in the U.S. Army, 61st Infantry, from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of Bright Hope Lodge 557. He was an avid participant in team athletics and played on Halls High’s first football team in 1948. He had fond memories of coaching Little League baseball and attending sporting events in which his children played. Roger worked over 30 years for Avondale Dairy (and subsequently Southern Belle) in Halls and was its general manager when he retired in 1990. He was preceded in death by parents Clemie and Ruth Bettis Stout and brother Bruce Stout. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria Mynatt Stout, children and their spouses Steve and Kathy Stout, Randy and Joelle Stout, Marcie and Mike Wasson, 7 grandchildren, Matthew (wife Sara Beth) and Sarah Stout, Colton, Logan, and Grace Stout, Rand and Emma Wasson, one great-granddaughter, Ruth Stout, brother Hubert Stout, sisters-in-law Evon Stout and Barbara Gaylor, and mother-in-law Marie Mynatt. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM with service to follow at 8:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, the Reverends Dr. Alan Price, Dr. Charles Earl, and Tim Hopkins officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:00 AM Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the funeral home and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for 10:30 AM interment. Pallbearers: Matthew Stout, Rand Wasson, Sterling Lewis, Bill Rose, Mike McConkey, and Greg Matthews. Honorary pallbearers are Phil Lovorn’s Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaver Dam Church Breaking Free campaign, or the Gideons International.
