Rodney H. Snyder

June 1, 1943 — May 18, 2023

Rodney H. Snyder went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company, where he worked for 40 years, and was a member of the 25 year club. He played the bass for the family gospel group “The Gibbs Family Singers” for 22 years, and attended Dutch Valley Baptist Church.

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Snyder and Leona L. Snyder. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda Snyder, son Gregory Snyder, daughter Melanie and Dewayne Hamilton, grandchildren Brandon Snyder, Brittany Moorman, Nicholas Hamilton and wife Rachel, great-grandchildren Crista, Autumn, Ava, and Addison, sister Susan Letellier, brother Jeff Snyder, brother-in-law Dennis and wife Tina, sister-in-law Carol Irick and husband Butch, many beloved nieces and nephews, and dear friend Ernie Jennings and wife Geraldine. Special heartfelt “thank you” to the physicians and staff at the University of Tennessee Cancer Institute, and the nurses and staff at UT Hospice. Family and friends will meet at 12:15pm Monday, May 22, 2023, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 1:00pm graveside service.
