Creigh, Roderick Finley, age 86 of Powell died peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Rod’s loving family surrounded him during his journey. Rod retired from BWXT Y-12 in April 2005 after nearly 50 years. Rod retired from the U.S. Military, with 26 years of service. He was a proud Marine and served in the TN Army and Air National Guard’s for over 17 years. He was a member of the Tennessee Defense Force. Rod and his wife, Betty, loved to travel and they did so often. Rod also had a passion for flying and owned his own plane. Rod’s community service included, past president of the PTA at Powell Elementary School, Broadacres Homeowners Association, and the Cricket Club. Rod was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church for 60 years and served as Elder many times. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Martin Creigh, mother, Pauline Osborne Creigh, father and step-mother, Samuel and Florence Creigh, brother David Creigh, and grandson Trent Creigh Roberts. Survived by loving family, sister-in-laws, Ann Creigh and Patsy Modie, daughters & son-in-laws, Candis & Don Maughan; Chris & Gary Cunningham; Carol & Joe Mahler; Cathy & Bobby Roberts; son Scott Creigh; son & daughter-in-law Sam & Windy Creigh; grandchildren Laura Maughan (Elizabeth Mabius); Trey (Leah) Maughan; Jeffrey (Holly) Cunningham, Jamie (Courtney Seals), Jory & Jacy Cunningham; Jo Jo, Jacob & Jarrett Mahler; Tyler (Jamie) Roberts; Christian, Matthew, Nathaniel & Oliver Creigh; great-grandchildren, Peyton & Madison Maughan, Ivey & Nolan Cunningham, Sophia & Tucker Cunningham, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many wonderful friends. We wish to express our gratitude to the many private caregivers and UT Hospice Staff whom provided exceptional care to Dad and his family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with a reception to follow on Saturday, January 28 at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 1705 Merchants Drive, Knoxville, TN 37912.
