Robin Lynn (Cummings) Chitwood, age 55 of Clinton, passed away on January 14, 2018. The Bible tells us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Robin met her Savior and is experiencing a joy that we cannot even begin to comprehend. Therefore, we will praise the Lord at all times and His praise will always be on our lips (Psalm 34:1), for we know that Jesus is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him (Luke 20:38). Robin was born on February 12, 1962 to the late Tommy and Dorothy Cummings. She married her high school sweetheart and husband of over 38 years, Gregory Eugene Chitwood, in June of 1979. From then on the two were all but inseparable. Their personalities could not have been more different, but they loved each other fiercely, and brought out the best in each other. Robin poured her life into the raising and care of her 3 children before obtaining her nursing degree. She cared about and loved people in an extraordinary way. She had an outgoing personality, never meeting a stranger; loving to talk to everyone she met. She always had a kind word for everyone. Robin enjoyed writing poems, song lyrics and acting silly with her grandchildren. Robin is preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother, Ronnie Cummings. She is survived by her husband Gregory Chitwood of Clinton; her 3 children, Matthew (Crystal) Chitwood of Powell; Amanda (Roy) Smith of Powell; Andrew (Dominique) Chitwood of Powell; 10 grandchildren: Canaan, Cody, River, Zettie, Lorelai, Jonah, Jolene, Elin, Thatcher and Titus; and brother Phillip Cummings of Knoxville. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, with memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Phil Jones officiating.
