Robert Wayne Norman

Robert Wayne Norman, Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was a beloved grandfather, father, son and brother. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty McGinnis Norman; son, Wayne Norman; parents, Jewell and Johnnie Norman; brothers, Bob, Eddie, Ronnie and Harold Lee; sister Jean. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Norman Beecher (Clif Scott); granddaughter Cheyann Norman; brothers, Kenny and Billy Ray Norman; sisters, Patricia Daniel (Vaughn), Linda Groner (Tommy), Sandra Hensley and Deidra Duncan; special niece Judy Kerr; cousins "The Coopers"; and many other nieces and nephews. The eldest of twelve siblings, he was a lifelong resident of the Powell community and proud to be one of the "Powell boys" and a longtime member of the local Moose lodge. After a career at Benco and Tindell's in Oak Ridge he retired to his favorite pursuits of lovinly fixing, wiring or remodeling anything and everything for his neighbors, friends and relatives; traveling and gambling the casinos with buddies; feeding his birds; and visiting and enjoying sunshine and banana popsicles from his collection of front porch rockers. The family would like to thank their friends and neighbors for their kindness and support throughout this year. Blessings to his brother Kenny who provided such good care and good friend David Latham for one last drive. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Larry Woods officiating.
