Robert Taylor Scott

September 17, 1942 — June 5, 2014

Robert Taylor Scott left his earthly world better than when he entered it. A kind giver and loyal friend, who touched so many people with his thoughtfulness and contagious laugh, he always carried a song in his heart and a joke in his pocket. He was Powell High School and UT’s biggest fan, he cheered on the Panthers and Volunteers win or lose. He loved and cared for those he worked with at ORNL Federal Credit Union where he worked for 29 years and was Executive V.P. He found some of his closest and dearest friends there. He spent 11 years at GMC Truck & Coach Credit Union in Pontiac, MI. His adventures took him from his beloved NASCAR racetracks to baseball stadiums to watch his favorite St. Louis Cardinals. He was a dad any child would be blessed to have. A dad who not only gave fatherhood 100%, but was always, always there, his time was his constant and most treasured gift. A dedicated husband to Cindy for 33 years, he was her constant companion and cheerleader. He was her rock and her soul mate, full of unconditional love and support. Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church was his extended family and he was an active member for 32 years. He found comfort and joy in spending his Sunday mornings teaching Sunday school for 15 years with those he loved and cherished, especially with his junior high Sunday school class which he taught for several years. His deep love of Elvis and his music brought him many friends from far and wide. If you knew him, you knew "Taylor Made." He is preceded in death by parents; Robert Abner Scott & Ruth Ilene Scott. He is survived by Wife Cynthia Gail Scott, Daughters; Shannon Elizabeth Scott, Savanna Lynn Taylor Roberts & son-in-law William Everette Roberts, Brothers; Donnie Hein (Sylvia) in Ethel, Mo, Jim Scott in Toledo IL, Mother-in-law Rebecca Weishuhn, Brother-in-law; Jack Weishuhn (Denise), Robby Hatler (Judy), Sister-in-law; Penny Kirby (Jim), Jeri Edwards (John), Aunts & Uncles; Jean &Regina Richardson and Don & Diann Jackson, along with several nieces and nephews.
