Robert Paul Dyer, age 66, of Greenback, left this world of pain and suffering February 5, 2013 and is now at peace. He was a Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, and even standing in the middle of a thunderstorm. His love of nature, his family, and his friends made him the richest person on Earth. Everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him loved him instantly. He always had a kind word, a warm smile, and a heartfelt chuckle that made you laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Mamie Dyer, brothers Carroll and Houston. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife and friend of 32 years, Susan and their daughter Amber, sister Charlotte (Phillip) Claiborne, nephew Christopher (April) Robinson, brother-in-law Ronnie “Butch” Robinson, sister Vanessa Smith, former wife Paula MacKenzie and their children Sherri Fox, Lenny Dyer, and Dianna (Steve) Chesney, granddaughters Megan Dyer (Ricky Schleigh), Miranda Chesney, Leanna Dyer, and great-grandson Landon Schleigh. Funeral service will be 4 PM Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Rev. Marcus Daly officiating. There will be a private family inurment at 11:30 AM at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Gov. John Sevier. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
