Robert McClure Mink went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2018. He was born on December 16, 1948 and grew up in the Halls community of Knox County.
He was a devout Christian having given his life to the Lord when he was a child. He was raised in the Baptist faith. One of Robert’s greatest joys was getting to share the Plan of Salvation with those he met.
Robert graduated from Halls High School in 1966. He served in the Army from 1971 to 1972 in South Korea receiving an Honorable Discharge. Robert was a member in good standing of Masonic Lodge #366.
After 33 years of service, Robert retired in 2003 from Oak Ridge National Laboratory with a career as a Machinist and later as a Fabrication Complex Facility Manager.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Zella Mae Mink; and brother David Mink.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years Brenda Irons Mink of Claxton; Brothers Billy and Martha Mink of Knoxville, Eddie and Sherlene Mink of Halls; and Sister Linda (Sissy) and husband Ed Houser of Knoxville. He is also survived by several very special nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Edgemoor Baptist Church (330 Old Emory Road, Clinton, TN 37716) Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with funeral service to follow. Preacher Jason Sharp will officiate.
