Robert M. "Papaw" Summerlin

Robert M. “Papaw” Summerlin, passed away December 27, 2015. He attended Faithway Baptist Church and South Knoxville Church of God. He served his country in WWII, Korea and Vietnam until retiring from the United States Coast Guard. He was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather, Papaw to many, and contributed to the lives of many young people. Preceded in death by parents; great-grandson, Lucas Webb; brother, Slim Summerlin; sister, Athalene Woods; brother-in-law, Walter Woods. Survived by wife, Marie Summerlin; brother-in-law, Chuck Lindsey; granddaughters, Megan Edwards and Ashley Green; great grandchildren, Emily Davis, Raquel Green, Zachary Green, Alyssa Haynes, Haley Dawson, and Isabella Flanery. Special thanks to the friends and people that have prayed for through the past few months. Family and friends will meet 9:15 am Tuesday at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Governor John Sevier Highway for 9:30 am graveside service, Rev. Tommy Bellamy officiating.
