Robert Lee Reed

Robert (Bobby/Bob) Lee Reed, 84, of Knoxville, TN fell asleep in death on Saturday, May 15, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. A private graveside service will be held at Sartin Cemetery in Heiskell, TN. Bob was born on July 24, 1936 in Knoxville, TN. He was a graduate of Powell High School and married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Joyce Lovelace Reed, on January 12, 1956. They cherished 65 years of marriage together. Bob and Joyce raised three children together, Mitzi, Randi, and Bo. Bob was a loving and supportive father, but his favorite title was Papoo to his two grandchildren, Cali and Jessye. He was a long-time employee of Bellsouth and AT&T, retiring with over 40 years of service. Bob was an avid farmer and loved nothing more than being on his John Deere tractor and raising cattle. Bob’s personality was infectious, always with a big smile on his face and he loved to tell stories and laugh. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Andrew Reed and Nora Shetterly Reed; brothers Donald and Joseph Reed; and sisters Viola Beeler and Louise Hackney. He is survived by his wife Joyce Lovelace Reed, daughters Mitzi and Randi Reed; son Bo Reed; grandchildren Cali Reed Boles and Jessye Eldridge; and several special nieces, nephews, friends, and adopted family.
