Robert Eugene Miller

March 21, 1951 — August 29, 2021

Robert Eugene "Bobby" Miller left this world behind on Sunday, August 29th, 2021, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bobby was born on March 21st, 1951. He was one of God's special people, who some call mentally handicapped. But what Bobby lacked in mental acuity, he more than made up for in emotional intelligence. With an enthusiastic "Hello!", Bobby made friends and brought joy everywhere he went. He never met a stranger. Bobby loved the Lord, and shined his love all around, from Crossroads Baptist Church on Emory Road to the Dollar Tree in Halls, to the Shoney's buffet in North Knoxville. Bobby loved passing the offering plate at church, eating fried chicken, gardening, his beloved dog, Spot, and his Mama (most of all). In his younger years, Bobby ran the roads on a bicycle, making friends and influencing people. He even saved a house from burning down once. Bobby was a well-known fixture at Sunnybrook Apartments, walking the grounds with Spot, a long-haired Chihuahua, spreading goodwill and information to all he encountered. As his mobility decreased in later years, Bobby watched a lot of TV. He was a big fan of Billy Graham and Andy Griffith, but he didn't like Columbo - he thought he was a show-off. Bobby's greatest love was reserved for "The Dukes of Hazzard," seen throughout the years on TV, and then endlessly watched on DVD, after, for reasons Bobby couldn't understand, they were taken off the air. Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin H. Miller, his beloved mother, Carrie Belle Miller, and brother, Wayne Miller. He leaves behind his sisters, Patricia Jones, Brenda (Jim) Conn, Frances England, half-siblings John (Lynn) Miller, Samson Miller, Catherine (Gary) Angela, and Ne Ne (Kenny) Jones, a host of nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, and very special friends, Mike and Pat Casey, who helped Bobby as if he were family. Bobby was too good for this world and has gone home. He is resting in peace with the Lord, in Heaven, where every tear has been wiped away, and there is no more pain, or death. Friends and family may call at their convenience from 12:00pm until 5:00pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
