Robert Elmer Summers age 97 of Blaine passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020. Retired from Rice Oldsmobile and was the Past Master of JC Baker Lodge F&AM in Maynardville. A veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II receiving a Good Conduct Metal, American Theater Ribbon, AP Theater Ribbon and two Bronze Service Stars, one Bronze Arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon. During his service he was injured during operation AP Theater and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Meredith Broderick Summers; parents, Joseph and Francis Sharp Summers; four sisters and one brother. Survived by his children, Victoria Plane and husband Donald, Skip Summers and wife Patty; grandchildren, Shane Summers, Allison Summers, Abigail Summers, Joshua Plane, Jeremy Plane, Matthew Plane; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Summers Breeding. A call at convenience will held on Friday, April 24, 2020 from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with a graveside service to be held at 3:00 PM at Texas Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bill McCarter officating. The Patriot Riders and the American Legion Riders will escort the body of Mr. Summers from the funeral home to his final resting place.
