Robert Edward Stooksbury

Robert "Ed" Edward Stooksbury age 82 of Knoxville, passed into glory Friday, April 18, 2025.  Ed was a perfect example of a Godly husband, Daddy, Papaw, Uncle Ed to everyone who knew him.  He graduated from Fulton High School in 1960 and married the love of his life Norma Clay "Mrs. Gorgeous" in 1963.   A long-time employee of Rohm and Haas, USI Motors and Knoxville City Garage.  Ed was a vintage car enthusiast who was well known for his restoration of many antique cars and one of the best auto body artists in East Tennessee. He loved attending classic car shows and going to local cruise ins on weekends with his beloved 1972 Ford Pickup.  Ed was a member of North Knoxville Baptist Church. Preceded in death parents; Robert Hynds Stooksbury and Carrie Blair Stooksbury;  special aunt; Mary Blair Cannon. Survivors; wife of 62 years; Norma Clay Stooksbury; children, Kim (Glenn) Haase, Lisa (Brian) Thomas and Robert Gregory (Kimberly) Stooksbury. Grandchildren Cameron, Sammy, Robbie, Kayla and Clay. Seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 4:30 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025 at North Knoxville Baptist Church 217 West Oldham Avenue Knoxville, TN  37917 with funeral service to follow, Rev. Gene Nelson and Dr. Jason Sweeton officiating. The family encourages Ed's family and friends to drive their antique classic cars to the visitation/funeral and graveside service weather permitting.  Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Piney Baptist Cemetery, 2660 Piney Rd, New Market, TN for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
