Robert A. (Bob) Marshall, born November 30, 1928, passed away October 10, 2015. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. As Korean war veteran, he received the Bronze Star with Valor. After leaving the military he worked with his father to develop Hickory Star Boat Dock. He joined the Knoxville City Police Department in 1962 and worked his way through the ranks to become Police Chief. He retired from the police department and joined the Knox. County Sherriff Department, where he worked as a bailiff in criminal court for many years before retiring. He is preceded in death by parents Walter C. and Edna M. Marshall and brother, James (Bill) Marshall. Survived by wife of 62 years, Anna P. Marshall; son John and wife Brenda Marshall; daughter Susan and husband Tim Royster; brother, Joe and wife Ginger Marshall; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend Dr. Bill Breeding; adopted son Rick Harmon. In lieu of flowers family requests that donations be made in his honor to Honor Air. Family and friends will meet 10:45am Wednesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for 11am graveside service. There will be a call at convenience starting at 10am Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
