Ricky Junior Hensley

Rick Hensley, age 62, of Knoxville, went peacefully to be with the Lord Monday June 20, 2016 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was a member of New Beverly Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter for thirty years. Rick was an amazing father to his children, a wonderful papaw to his four grandchildren, a devoted and loving husband to his wife, and a great friend. Rick did not have a brother of his own but through his extended family and friends he was blessed with many brothers. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by father Junior Hensley, mother Margaret Hensley Surgenor, step father Rudy Surgenor, mother-in-law Bobbie Brown, father-in-law Jack Brown, 6 brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. Survivors include wife of over 28 years Mary Hensley, daughter Haley Hensley, sons Ricky and wife Kristen, and Jeremy and wife Christy, grandchildren Corbin, Eli, Marybella, and special grandson Grayson, aka “The Man”, sisters Pat and husband Carl, and Cathy, three brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Pastor Jonathan from Outreach Baptist Church and to Rick’s niece, Crissy Lawson, who has been with them throughout his journey. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Thursday at Roseberry Cemetery for graveside services at 11 am with Rev. Jonathan Tharpe officiating.
