Richard Frank Spille lost his ten year battle with cancer on June 10, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Wallace Spille and Beulah Dronet Spille, and father in law, Raynor L. Gue. Survived by wife, Seprenia Joy Gue Spille; son, Richard Franklin Spille; sister, Nola Spille Felker, husband J. L. Felker, Jr.; Nephew, Kyle Anderson Felker; niece, Becky L. Clark, husband Todd Clark and their two children. Mother in law, Violet G. Gue; sister in law Dr. Crystal L. Gue and husband, Tom Peek; nephew Deven Duda; brother in law Dennis Gue.
Richard spent six years in the U.S. Navy. He earned an associates degree in electrical engineering. He built upon that developing it into computers and web programming.
This work history included ORNL, Instrumentation and Controls Division, as an entrepreneur, Discovery Systems, TRI, Telerobotics Inc., which later became IPIS. He and business partner, Robbie Black built DataFlow, an internet based management software company serving the festival industry. This business was sold to San Francisco based company, Vendini where they worked until his death.
Richard Spille was a warrior fighting his cancer for ten years. He and his family wish to thank U.T. Hospice for their incredibly skilled doctors and nurses who made his journey easier. Dr. Wahid Hanna and staff were with us to the end.
Funeral service is Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Mike Lucas and Rev. Larry Woods officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home Monday, June 16, 2014 at 10:00 am and proceed to TN Veterans Cemetery. Visitation is 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday, June 14 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
