Richard Eugene Shepler

Shepler, Richard Eugene, age 71, of Powell, passed away Sunday, October 12 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by father Howard A. Shepler, Sr., mother Helen Irene Teeter, brother Howard A. Shepler, Jr., sister Patricia A. Hanna and step-father Gerald Teeter. Richard is survived by daughter Edie Pitts, son Ronnie Shepler and wife Ruthann, grandchildren Daniel, Amanda, Deanna, and Lori, great grandchild Bayleigh, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Glen Shope, Daniel Lewis, Eric Webb, Rodney Hiefner, Stacy Shope, and Luke Lee will be serving as pallbearers. Family and friends will meet 11:15 AM Friday at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Gov. John Sevier for graveside services at 11:30 AM. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
