It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dad and granddad, Richard “Dick” Brewer, 78, of Knoxville, who went home to be with his beloved wife, Cindy Brewer, on February 4, 2025. He was a man full of love, laughter, and wisdom.
A devoted family man, Dick was always there for his children and grandchildren, making memories through stories, advice, and a helping hand…or singing “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” at any time of year. His silly humor always brightened any room. He could fix anything. If he wasn’t sure how, he would figure it out. If Grandaddy couldn’t fix it, no one could. He was a fantastic dad and granddaddy.
A passionate history buff, he loved sharing interesting facts. No one needed Google or a textbook when Grandaddy was around.
One of the last things he spoke about was his love for going to the sporting events of his grand babies, saying that he had even more fun going to the games than they did playing.
He also loved his dogs. He was the dog whisperer.
His love of coffee was passed down to his granddaughters.
Before he passed, he said everything was beautiful and he saw babies and puppies, so we know this was glimpse into his gateway to heaven.
His greatest joy was simply being with family. He will be deeply missed.
Dick leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. While we will miss him, we find comfort knowing he’s now reunited with Grandmomma and his Creator.
He leaves behind his daughters, Andrea Brewer and Tricia Holbert and husband Mickey and his grandbabies, as he affectionately referred to them, Mackenzie Lieser and husband Austin, Owen Holbert, Aleah Holbert, Cooper Wyatt, Jake Holbert, Laney Holbert, and Payton Holbert.
