Richard Allen Daniels (Rick), age 71, of Knoxville, TN, who was born on October 28, 1949, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Rick retired from Alstom Power after 32 years of employment. He was a very dedicated employee and loved his occupation. Rick enjoyed many hobbies. His life was richly blessed with a lot of fun memories. He loved tailgating with the gang and attending UT Vols football games. He also loved taking trips on his Gold Wing. He was a member of GWRRA. Rick got to travel the world to many continents. Rick’s favorite was cruising to the Carribean with his family, from his retirement home in Hudson, Florida. Rick worked hard for his girls, building them three different homes himself over his lifetime. He worked endlessly and constantly to provide for his family. God blessed him with 2 beautiful granddaughters, Keylee, and Emerald. Finally, at the age of 70, he got his first great grandson that he was so proud of, often referring to him as “Little Rick”. In the last few years of life, his DOL nurses became part of his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mildred Daniels; grandparents, Charles and Hattie Faddis, who were like parents to him; brothers, Garry, Robin, and Michael. Left to cherish his memories, wife of 54 years, Amy Daniels; daughters, Christy Howe, Sherry (Todd) Branam; granddaughters, Keylee (Luke) Thompson, Emerald Howe; siblings, Regina (Wes) Wolfenbarger, Terry (Karen) Daniels, Tracy Daniels, Stewart Daniels; great grandson, who he adored, Jase Thompson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosella (David) Palori, Louise (Glen) Meredieth, Susan Cash; Uncles, Rev. Herman Faddis, and Freddy Daniels; numerous nieces and nephews; furbabies, Buddy, and Izzy. To Quality Nursing Staff, Tina Larmer, Letha Gunter, Linda Wilson, Jenfeng (Lisa) Li: we thank you girls for all your love and support for the 24/7 care the last 4 years. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel with a Memorial service following at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Faith N Friends Horse Rescue, PO Box 1526, Powell, TN 37849. You may also donate flower arrangements to your local hospital, Children’s Hospital, or assisted living center. Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
