Rhonda Lynne Ledgerwood went to lead heaven’s angels on December 10, 2024, at the age of 52. She is survived by her devoted husband of 23 years, Scott Ledgerwood, daughter Lilly Ledgerwood, Mother and bonus father Debbie and Chris Todd all of Knoxville, TN; Sisters Rachael Leviner of Charleston, SC, Rebecca Owens (Clay) of Greenville, SC and Ramona Hurley of Florence, SC; Brothers Ronnie Leviner Jr. (Ronni) of Summerville, SC, Jacob Holmes and Nicholas Holmes both of Knoxville, TN; adoring nieces, nephews and numerous loving and supporting members of the Ledgerwood and Wright families. She is preceded in death by her father Ronnie Lynn Leviner of Fayetteville, NC.
Rhonda was born on October 28, 1972, in Fayetteville, NC to Ronnie Lynn Leviner and Debbie Leviner Todd (nee Orr). She attended Tennessee School for the Deaf until 1989 when she was integrated into the public school system and graduated J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, TX in 1994. On July 4, 2001, Rhonda married Scott, her “teddy bear”, middle school sweetheart and absolute love of her life. They were blessed with the miracle of miracles when Rhonda delivered their daughter, Lilly, a few years later. Rhonda and Scott enjoyed trips to the mountains, especially Pigeon Forge where they spent many anniversaries at one of her favorite places, Dollywood. She delighted in doing anything at all with Lily, but especially dancing. Most of us can share a memory of Rhonda laughing, dancing and being silly. Rhonda’s many health conditions remained an ever-present hurdle in their lives, but it did not keep her from being a loving, doting and devoted wife and mother. She was so very proud of her marriage and their family.
Rhonda, our Sweet Pea, a mountain could be built from the things you couldn’t do, the things we were told you would never do, the experiences that would never be yours to have, a life that would be… Less. With a blind defiance that left us bewildered, you disproved it all one day at a time for 52 years. Because of you, we know that limitation is a state of mind, letting someone else define you is a choice, and self-doubt may very well be lore by your standards. Bold, Tender, Tenacious, Fearless, Funny, Kind, Loyal, Thoughtful, Child-like. All the best adjectives are yours.
We will see you in every shade of purple, long to get a funny meme or message from you, miss the feeling of your gentle hands patting our backs when you hug us, the delight in your face when we make your favorite food, the baddie new outfits that you dazzled us with and always needed more of, the sound of your infectious laughter when we dance, your giggle and side-eye when swapping secrets, and your savage, fierce competitiveness at UNO and Yahtzee. You have won for good, our Rhonda, and we will be sad for ourselves as we see you signing “too bad for you”. You left your mark, and we will remain in awe of you.
